Mutual Inductance M between two coils is given by

where Ii is current passing through coil-1 and e2 is induced EMF in coil-2 due to change in current in coil-1 with respect to time.
Hence we can define mutual inductance between two coils as follows.
There is a mutual inductance of 1 henry between two coils, if induced EMF in coil-2 is 1 volt
due to change in current of 1 A occurs in coil-1 in 1 s time duration.
