On subracting eq. (2) from (1)
—490d=490 => d= —1
subs. 'd= —1' in eq. (1)
a + 8(—1)=499 => a=499+8=507
tn=a + (n—1)d
t508= a+( 508—1)d = a+507(d)= 507+507(—1)=>507—507=0
