A strip of copper and another of germanium are cooled from room temperature to 30K. The resistance of:
a)Copper strip increases and that of germanium decreases
b)Copper strip decreases and that of germanium increases

Answer is (b). Germanium is a semiconductor.semiconductor conducts at high temperature above room temp, so with dec in temp they becomes insulator hence resistance increases. Whereas copper is a conductor and in conductors with dec in temperature resistance decreases.
