1Q. Show that n^2-1 is divisible by 8 , if n is an odd positive integer.
To solve this problem, why the value of n is taken as 4q+1 or 4q+3?
How to solve if n is taken as 2q+1?

You can find the answer by clicking the link below
now odd number is represented by 2n + 1,
but here it is to prove that it will be divisible by 8, so we take 4n + 1, numbers greater than 4n.
Since no number less than 4n will be divisible by 8 so no need to include those.
