What are the properties of a solution?

  • It is a homogeneous mixture.
  • The particles of a solution cannot be seen by naked eyes since they are smaller than 1 nm in diameter.
  • They do not scatter the beam of light passing through the solution because of very small particle size.
  • The solute particles cannot be separated from the mixture by filtration. The solute particles do not settle down when left undisturbed and hence the solution is stable.
