Two similar and equally charged metal spheres A and B repel each other with a force of 3  10-6 N. A third identical uncharged sphere C is touched with A and then placed at the mid point between A and B. calculate the net electric force on C.

Force between A and B is: Here, F = 12 N

On touching C with A, charge on A as well as C will be q/2. Now the net force on C is:
