ICSE Class 10 Answered
How does change on pressure effect the amplitude of sound wave?
Asked by | 10 Oct, 2013, 02:10: PM
Expert Answer
Sound wave can be considered as propagation of pressure. The portion of the medium where the pressure has a larger value than its average value is called a crest. The portion of the medium where the pressure has a smaller value than its average value is called a trough. And, the magnitude of this maximum disturbance in the medium on either side of the mean position (i.e. crest or trough) is called the amplitude of the wave.
