For molecules and polyatomic ions, the co-ordination number of an atom is determined by simply counting the other atoms to which it is bonded (by either single or multiple bonds).
In [FeF6], Fe is a central metal ion and there are 6 Fluorine atoms bonded to it. Hence its co-ordination number is 6.
Similarly, in Fe(CN)6, Fe is a central metal ion and there are 6 CN atoms bonded to it. Hence its co-ordination number is also 6.
