There are 3 unpaired electrons in $[C o (H_{2} O)_{6}]^{2 +}$ and calculated value of magnetic moment is

$straight mu equals square root of straight n left parenthesis straight n plus 2 right parenthesis end root equals 3.87 space BM$

Its experimental value is found to be $4.40$ BM, due to some contribution of the orbital motion of an electron to the magnetic moment
