Dear Student
1. Reactivity of metals decreases as you go from left to right across a period.
Group - reactivity increases as you go down a group
Group - reactivity increases as you go down a group
In case of non-metals
Period - reactivity increases as you go from the left to the right across a period.
Group - reactivity decreases as you go down the group.
Period - reactivity increases as you go from the left to the right across a period.
Group - reactivity decreases as you go down the group.
2. Thermal stability
Increases in a period and decreases down the group.
3. Electrical conductivity: First it increases (in metals) and then decreases in a peroid and increases in a group from up to down.
For an element to conduct electricity, it must contain electrons that are free to move. In general, metals are good conductors of electricity and non-metals are poor conductors of electricity.
4. Solubility Increases in a period and decreases down the group.
We hope that clarifies your query.
