A body is thrown vertically upwards with an initial velocity of 100 m/s. Find :
(i) Time taken to reach maximum height
(ii) Maximum height reached
(iii) Velocity after 5 second
Take g = 10 m/s2
Given, u = 100 m/s; v = 0 m/s; a = g = -10m/s2
(a) Time taken to reach maximum height
t = (v - u)/a = (0 - 100) / (-10) = 10s
(b) Maximum height reached is
(c) Velocity after 5 second
v = u + at = 100 + (-10 x 5)
= 50 m/s
