PM YASASVI Entrance Test 2023 - All You Need to Know.

The Government of India has announced a scholarship program called the PM Young Achievers Scholarship Award Scheme for Vibrant India (YASASVI), which will offer 15000 scholarships ranging from Rs. 75000 to Rs. 1.25 Lakhs to deserving students of classes 9 and 11 across the country.

The candidates awarded the scholarships will be selected through a written examination called the PM YASASVI Entrance Test (PM YET). The exam will be conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA).

On 11th July 2023, NTA started accepting applications from eligible, interested students who want to appear for the PM YET exam. The applications are to be submitted through the official PM YET website. The last date for students to submit their applications is 10th August 2023.

Eligibility Criteria

The scholarship is available for students belonging to the Economically Backward Class (EBC), De-Notified, Nomadic & Semi-Nomadic Tribes (DNT/S-NT), and Other Backward Class (OBC) categories.

To qualify, the combined annual income of the student's parents or guardian from all sources must be Rs. 2.5 Lakhs or less. The candidate should also be a student at one of the Top Schools identified by the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment. The Top Schools list is given on the PM YET website.

The syllabus for the exam is the NCERT curriculum of classes 8th and 10th, depending on whether the eligible candidate is currently in class 9 or 11. The examination will have four sections - Maths, Science, Social Science and General Knowledge. The candidate should obtain at least 35% marks in the exam to pass.

After students have completed the test, a merit list will be released with the individual rank of each student. Students who have qualified for the scholarship will have to undergo a verification process, after which they will be awarded the PM YASASVI scholarship.

How to Apply for the PM YASASVI Entrance Test?

To submit the PM YSASVI entrance test application, eligible students must first register on the PM YET website. The following steps will allow candidates to successfully enrol for the scholarship test.

  • On the homepage of the PM YET website, click on the ‘New Candidate Register Here’ tab if you have not already registered on the website.
  •  Fill in the required details and note down the system-generated application number.
  • Go back to the homepage after successfully registering. On the right side, fill in your application details, password, and security pin. Click on ‘login’.
  • After logging in, fill up the application form and submit the required documents.
  • Review all details and submit the application.
  • Download and save the confirmation page for future reference.

NTA will release the admit cards on the PM YET website in September. The release date of the admit card will be announced later.
