The Indian Space Research Organisation and MyGOV have organised the Chandrayaan 3 MahaQuiz, a quiz competition to celebrate the successful landing of Chandrayaan 3 near the south pole of the Moon. All Indian citizens, especially students, have been invited to participate in the quiz and win cash prizes anywhere from Rs. 1000 to Rs. 1 Lakh. The quiz is now live, and the last day to participate is 29th September 2023 till 11:45 PM IST.

On 23rd August, when Chandrayaan 3 successfully landed on the Moon, Prime Minister Modi congratulated the scientists of ISRO, addressing the nation live from Brazil. He highlighted the big achievement as a moment of pride for 140 crore Indians. He also mentioned that the moon mission was not India’s alone but a testimony to the approach of one Earth, one family and one future. The Chandrayaan MahaQuiz organised by the government of India is a way for Indians to join in on the celebration. The Chandrayaan 3 MahaQuiz is a timed quiz of 300 seconds and contains 10 multiple-choice questions with no negative marking. The quiz has been organised to honour India’s space exploration journey to date, with its latest feat being Chandrayaan 3. How to Participate?

To participate in the quiz, candidates need to follow these steps:

  1. Visit the MyGov website and click on the Chandrayaan 3 MahaQuiz banner.
  2. On the next page, click on ‘Participate Now’.
  3. Enter valid details as mentioned on the page since it will be used for further communication with the candidate. Ensure you fill in complete and correct details since incomplete profiles will not be eligible to win.
  4. Click on ‘Proceed’.
  5. You will get an OTP on the given mobile number (for Indian residents) and your email (for international residents). Enter the OTP in the given field and submit.

The moment you click submit, the quiz will start. Remember, it is a timed quiz, so click on submit when you are ready to answer the questions.

After completing the quiz, you will receive a reference ID. Either take a screenshot or note the ID down for future reference. You will also receive a downloadable participation certificate.

MahaQuiz Cash Prizes

After successfully answering all questions, all participants stand a chance to win one of the many cash prizes announced by MyGov.

A cash prize of Rs 1 lakh will be awarded to the top performer of the quiz. The second-best performer will be given Rs. 75,000. The third winner will win a cash prize of Rs. 50,000.

The next 100 performers will be given consolation prizes of Rs. 2000 each. Finally, the next 200 winners will be given Rs. 1000 each as a consolation prize.

About the Chandrayaan 3 MahaQuiz

The Chandrayaan 3 MahaQuiz is a timed quiz where participants must answer 10 randomly generated questions in 300 seconds. The quiz does not have any negative markings.

The questions are all related to India’s space exploration journey to date and contain various questions related to India’s space history, moon missions, and other aspects of space.

Once the quiz is over, the participation certificate will be sent within 24 hours via a link to the registered mobile number and email for download. For further updates on the quiz, participants will have to check the MyGov website regularly for updates.
