NEET Result 2024 Declared: Check Details on cut-off and Admission Process

The D-day is finally here. After years of practice and learning, the students appeared for the NEET (UG) 2024 examination on 5th May 2024. The National Testing Agency (NTA) released the NEET (UG) 2024 results on 4th June 2024, which is around 10 days before the set date of result declaration, 14th June 2024. Along with the results, NTA released the final answer key on the morning of 4th June 2024. 

Around 23,33,297 students appeared for the NEET examination this year in around 577 exam centres in 571 cities in India and in 14 exam centres outside India. Out of 23,33,297 students, a total of 13,16,268 students have qualified the NEET (UG) 2024 examination. This year, the highest number of students have registered for this national-level examination in the last five years. The first rank was secured by a total of 67 students, scoring 99.99 percentile, getting 720 out of 720 marks in the examination.

  • Out of 23,33,297 students, 9,98,298 are male students, out of which 5,47,306 qualified while out of the appearing 13,34,982 female students, 7,69,222 have qualified.
  • A total number of 13,16,268 students cleared the examination, with Uttar Pradesh having the most qualified applicants, 1,65,047, closely followed by Maharashtra with 1,42,665 qualifying students and Rajasthan with 1,21,240 qualifying students.
  • 67 students secured the first rank, scoring 720 out of 720 marks and 99.99 percentile.

How to Check NEET 2024 Result?

Students can get their NEET (UG) 2024 scorecard from the official NEET website. The result can also be collected from the Digilocker website or app. To get the scorecard from the official NEET website, students can follow the given steps:

  1. Visit the official NEET website.
  2. Click on the NEET UG Result 2024 link present on the home page.
  3. In the login requirements, provide your registration number, date of birth, and captcha code/security pin.
  4. Next, click the "Proceed/Submit" option.
  5. The results will appear in your scorecard on your screen.
  6. Download it in PDF format, then review the results and save it for future reference.

NEET (UG) 2024 Counselling

The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) administers NEET counselling for admission to MBBS, BDS, and BSc Nursing seats under the 15% All India Quota (AIQ). The counselling procedure for the 85% State Quota seats is carried out by the State Medical Counselling and Admission Agencies. The applicants who meet the qualifying marks or the NEET cut-off will be the only ones able to take part in the medical counselling in 2024. 

The NEET counselling 2024 is scheduled to begin in July 2024. The NEET 2024 counselling date will be announced by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC), the counselling body, around a month after the NEET result 2024 is declared.

For NEET UG 2024, there are going to be about six rounds of counselling, which will likely last until November 2024. Depending on the number of seats available for each course, the number of rounds could vary. The NEET UG counselling procedure is used for medical seat allocation. The overall number of seats for MBBS and BDS is 1,09,145 and 27,868, respectively.

Documents Required for the Counselling Process

The students are required to have the following documents ready to appear in the NEET UG 2024 counselling process:

  • NEET Admit Card
  • NEET Scorecard or Rank Letter
  • Class 10 certificate and mark sheet (for date of birth)
  • Class 12 certificate and mark sheet
  • ID proof (Aadhar/PAN Card/Driving License/Passport)
  • Eight passport-size photographs
  • Provisional Allotment Letter
  • Caste Certificate (if applicable)
  • PwD Certificate (if applicable)

Counselling Process

The counselling process for NEET (UG) 2024 will be conducted as follows:

1. Students who have qualified for NEET 2024 and would like to take part in the NEET AIQ counselling process may register online at MCC's official website.

2. The necessary information must be entered by candidates, including their name, registration number, personal information, academic information, and any additional details listed on their NEET results.

3. In order to complete the NEET 2024 application procedure, students must also pay the NEET counselling registration costs. You can pay the NEET counselling registration cost online with a credit or debit card or via net banking.

4. Candidates must choose the college and course in the order that best suits them after completing the registration process.

5. The applicants may select as many options of colleges and courses as they like from the provided list.

6. A seat allocation list is created based on the All India Rank earned in the NEET 2024 and the preferences specified on the registration form. The MCC seat distribution list will be posted live on their official website.

7. Those applicants whose seats are confirmed through NEET counselling in 2024 would need to report to the designated institutes for document verification and seat confirmation. If an applicant accepts a seat and doesn't show up at the designated institute by the deadline, their seat will be forfeited.

Ans: According to the NTA, a candidate can take the NEET as many times as desired. There is no limit on the number of attempts allowed. With the lifting of the upper age restriction for NEET, there is even more freedom regarding the number of NEET attempts. Since the test is only held once a year, applicants are only permitted to appear once throughout the academic year.
