Highlights of Maha SSC Result 2016

The SSC exam for the state of Maharashtra took place from March 1 till March 29. Approximately 17 lakh students appeared for it across nine divisions in the state. The results were announced on June 6 after much speculation regarding the result date. For the passing percentage, even this year Konkan has maintained its numero uno position. Konkan has a passing percentage of 96.56% but Latur came on the ninth position with a pass percentage of a mere 81.54%.

The overall pass percentage of students this time is 89.56%. There is a three percent drop in it when compared to the 2015 results. This year 14,34,143 out of 16,01,406 students passed. Girls outshone the boys with a passing percentage of 91.49% and only 87.98% boys were successful in clearing the exam.

The Maharashtra Board conducts exams within the state through nine divisional boards at Pune, Mumbai, Latur, Aurangabad, Nagpur, Nashik, Kolhapur, Amaravati and Konkan.

This is the pass percentage of the remaining divisions. In second place was Kolhapur with 93.89%, Pune came in third with 93.30%, Mumbai is fourth with 91.90%, Aurangabad is fifth with 88.05%, Nagpur is on the sixth position with 85.34%, Amravati came seventh with 84.99 % and Nashik sits on the eighth position with 89.61%.

In Mumbai, around 3,23,955 students appeared for the exam. Out of those 2,97,719 students passed it. Data collectors have stated that city junior colleges have nearly 2,69,172 seats in total. Out of these 34,069 are for the stream of Arts, 81,431 are for Science and 1,53,672 are for Commerce.
