Bihar Board cancels results of two Class 12 toppers

Bihar Board took this step after the duo failed in the re-exam.

Two toppers, who reappeared the Class 12 exams of the Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB), are in trouble. The BSEB has cancelled their results after they failed in the re-exam.

Sourabh Shrestha had bagged the first rank and Rahul Kumar had ranked third. Both belonged to the Science stream. 11 more toppers from the Arts and Science streams were asked by the Bihar Board to reappear in a retest on Friday (June 3). This happened after a controversy broke over their merit after they gave wrong answers to simple questions related to their subjects.

The remaining 11 students passed the test. Sourabh and Rahul are both from Vishun Rai College. The BSEB also suspended the affiliation of the Vishun Rai College, Bhagwanpur in Vaishali district.

Ruby Rai, the Arts topper, failed to make an appearance for the re-exam on health grounds. The Board has given her a week’s time to prepare for the re-examination. In case she fails to give the re-exam next week, the Board will cancel her results.
