The Vice Chancellor of Delhi University (DU) Dinesh Singh resigned on Tuesday after the UGC directed him to scrap the Four Year Undergraduate Programme (FYUP). Following his resignation, three other officials also quit the organisation.

Dinesh Singh forwarded his resignation to HRD Ministry, the resignation led to immediate celebrations among students and teachers who opposed FYUP.

However, DU authorities are trying to convince Dinesh Singh to take back his resignation. With the ongoing issue between Delhi University and University Grants Commision, the future of students is at stake. DU is one of the top universities in the country and has around 78 colleges affiliated to it.
