Out of 64 colleges under Delhi University, 57 colleges have agreed to implement 3 year undergraduate programme.
The issue over the 4 year undergraduate programme was going on since a long time and UGC had issued directives to Delhi University to scrap the idea of the four year course. Ultimately, it led to the resignation of Delhi University’s Vice Chancellor Dinesh Singh.
Student unions and teachers’ associations are really happy as the colleges are implementing the usual 3 year undergraduate programme.
UGC has also directed the university to directly issue letters to Delhi colleges to admit students for the three year course. The commission has also assured that the student will not put through any inconvenience and their interest will be kept in mind.
