CBSE Cryptic Crossword Contest 2015

Crossword puzzles help students to improve their vocabulary and reasoning skills and improve their thinking and analytical abilities. Decoding the clues help these young minds to develop other cognitive skills as well. Learning becomes so much easier and simpler when different mental senses are challenged.  More importantly, solving a crossword is an interesting and effective educational tool for students who love solving puzzles.

The CBSE Cryptic Crossword Contest 2015 is India’s largest crossword-solving championship for students. It is an initiative taken by the CBSE to challenge students studying in Class 11 and 12. The contest is conducted in two phases—the first round is an interschool contest, which is held in selected cities during May–September 2015. In this round, schools send a team of two students who have to solve a cryptic crossword puzzle in 60 minutes. The winner and first runner-up of the contest get a certificate and prize.

The second phase is a national contest which is held in New Delhi during December 2015 wherein students have to go through three different rounds. After the contest is over, the winner and runner-up are announced who win a trophy and certificate.
