why does the apple fall towards earth but earth does not fall towards apple though gravitational force applied by both of them is same?

This is because the mass of apple is negligible as compared to the mass of the earth .hence it appears to fall towards the earth due to its small mass whereas earth appears to be stationary as its acceleration cannot be noticed due to large mass.
