Why a north pole iron rod repel to another iron rod of north pole?

A magnet is an object which is made of certain materials like iron which can create a magnetic field. 
It's a property of magnet that - like poles of magnets repels each other while unlike poles attract each other. 
Thus, when a north pole of magnet is brough near the north pole of another bar magnet it repels each other.
