The two liquid components can be separated using distillation method. The mixture of salt solution and ethanol is placed in a distillation flask and heated. On heating, ethanol with the boiling point of 78°C vapourises first and condenses in the recovery flask and thus can be collected. Salt solution with higher boiling point of 108.7 °C is left in the distillation flask.
