What led to the framing of the Indian Constitution?

The framing of the Indian Constitution was done in the following manner:
- The Constituent Assembly of India was formed in September 1946 for the purpose of drafting the Constitution of the country.
- During December 1946 and November 1949, a series of meetings were held by three hundred Indians to discuss the future of country’s politics. Many eminent personalities like Dr. Rajendra Prasad, Maulana Azad, Nehru, Dr. B.R. Ambedkar etc. were the members of the Constituent Assembly.
- The people participating in these meetings came from all over India and belonged to different political parties.
- These meetings then led to the framing of the Constitution which came into effect on 26th January 1950.
