What is the physical meaning of angular momentum?

If K(x,y) is the position of a particle of mass m and linear momentum rotating X-Y plane .

In Δ OKN,

ON = --------------- 2
Put the valve of ON in 1
We get, L = p (ON)
Hence, angular momentum of a body about a given axis is the product of linear momentum and perpendicular distance of line of action of linear momentum vector from the axis of rotation. This is the physical meaning of angular momentum.
