What is the difference between electric field and electromotive force? Are they dependent on each other, how?

The difference is in their conceptual definitions, their physical dimentions, their units. They are dependent on each other. 
Electric field = Electric field/test charge.
More formally, emf is the external work expended per unit of charge to produce an electric potential difference across two open-circuited terminals. The electric potential difference is created by separating positive and negative charges, thereby generating an electric field.
