Toluen gives nitration reaction more easily than chlorobenzene

Toluene reacts as a normal aromatic hydrocarbon towards electrophilic aromatic substitution. The methyl group makes it around 25 times more reactive than chlorobenzene in such reactions because of its +I effect.
