The given equation is,
 
Ca + Al3+  → Ca2+ + Al
 
Ca → Ca+ +  2e-   ----(1)
 
Al3+  +  3e- →  Al  ----(2)
 
Multiplying eq (1) by 3 and eq (2) by 2,
 
The equations will be,
 
3Ca → 3Ca+ +  6e-  
 
 
2Al3+  +  6e- →  2Al  
————————————
3Ca + 2Al3+ →   3Ca+ + 2Al  
 
Therefore, the stoichiometric coefficent of Ca is 3.
