if the bullet travelling with speed 160 m/s is stopped in 0.02 s ,
then retardation a is obtained from relation v = u - a×t ,
where v is final speed which is zero, u is initial speed and t is time.
retardation = u/t = 160/0.02 = 8000 m/s2
distance S travelled in wooden plank is obtained from the relation v2 = u2 - ( 2 a S ) ,
hence S = u2 / (2a) = 160×160 /(2×8000) = 1.6 m
