When an object moves in a circular path , a force dirrecting towards centre of circular path is required to maintain circular motion.
Figure shows the tension force T and weight mg acting on an objet when it is revolving in circular motion.
At lowest position A , tension force T is inherently present in the string due to weight of object .
At positions B and D , tension force T is mandatory to maintain circular motion .
At position C , direction of weight mg and Tension are towards center as shiwn in figure .
Hence at postion C , tension force T in the string can be negligible because weight mg is acting towrads centre of circular motion.
