Find the square of the following numbers: 1) 85 2) 14315
Asked by Topperlearning User | 04 Jun, 2014, 01:23: PM Expert Answer

1) 85

The number is of the form a5, where a = 8

Thus, a(a + 1) = 8 x 9 = 72

Hence, (85)2 = 7225

2) 14315

Here, n = 1431

Thus, n x (n + 1) = 1431 x 1432 = 2049192

Hence, (14315)2 = 204919225
