Find the equation of the axis of the parabola whose focus is (-1,-2), and the equation of the directrix is given by 4x-3y+2=0.

As shown in figure, directrix and axis of parabola are perpendicular.
Hence equation of axis is of the form 3x+4y+k =0, where k is constant.
Since the axis passing through focus point S(-1, -2),
we can get the value of k by suvstituting x=-1 and y=-2 in the axis equation.
 
3(-1) + 4(-2) +k  = 0  or k = 11, hence axis equation is 3x+4y+11 = 0
