Consider a 342 μF capacitor charged to 1250 V in a defibrillator. When charged to 1250 V, how much energy is stored in the capacitor? 9.60×102 J (in J)

Energy stored in a capacitor = (1/2) C V2
 
where C is Capacitance , V is voltage across capacitor plates .
 
Energy stored in capacitor = 0.5 × 342 × 10-6 ×1250 × 1250 = 267.19 J
