Calculate the speed of the fastest electron emitted by a tungsten surface { work function 4.5 eV }when it is irradiated with light of energy 5.8 eV. (given mass of electron 9.1 x 10 kg)

Einstein's photoelectric equation is written as
where E = 5.8 eV is incident raditaion on photo-electric surface, W = 4.5 eV is work function of photo-electric material and
K = [ (1/2) m v2 ] is maximum kinetic energy of electron , m is mass of electron , v is maximum speed of electron
K = W - E = ( 5.8 - 4.5 ) eV = 1.3 eV
maximum speed of electron is 6.765 × 105 m/s
