an athlete completes one round of circular track of diameter 200m in 40 second what will be the distance covered and the displacement at the end of 2 minutes 20 second

The displacement is the shortest distance between the initial and the final position. Since the athelete is running on circular track the displacement is zero as the final and the initial position of the athelete will be same.
diameter = 200m
radius = 200/2 = 100 m
Distance covered = circumference of circular track
Thus,
distance covered in 40 s= 2∏r = 2 x 3.14 x 100 = 628 m
distance covered in 1 s = 15.7 m
Thus, distance covered in 2 min 20 s i.e. 140 s = 15.7 x 140 = 2198 m
