ICSE Class 9 Answered
A farmer moves along the boundary of ssquar field of side 10m in 40s what will be the magnitude of displacement of the farmer at the end of 2m 20s from his initial position

Speed of the farmer movement = distance /time
Speed of the farmer movement = 10 m/ 25 sec
Speed of the farmer movement = 0.25 m/s
The magnitude of distance of the farmer at the end of 2m 20s from his initial position = 0.25 x 140 ... (2m 20s = 140 s)
The magnitude of distance of the farmer at the end of 2m 20s from his initial position = 0.25 x 140 = 35 m
35 m means that the farmer travelled along 3 complete sides and half of the fourth side of the square field of 10 m each.
That means from original position, the farmer was displaced only by 5m.
