Sir,
Why should a voltmeter be connected in parallel and an ammeter be connected in siries?

Expert Answer
- We know that Voltage in parallel connection and Current in series connection do not change in an electric circuit.
- The measurement devices are connected in a manner such that they give the desired output without adversely affecting the working of the system, which in this case is electric circuit.
- Therefore voltmeter is connected in parallel and ammeter is connected in series so that it gives proper output reading without changing the circuit functioning.
