Figure shows three 1 kg masses are placed at vertex of equilateral triangle and 2 kg mass at centroid of equilateral triangle.

Let origin of coordinate system is at centroid of triangle.

we are given that distance between centroid and each vertex is 2 m .

As shown in figure , each force F is the gravitational force of attraction between 2 kg mass and 1 kg mass

By Newton's law of gravitaion , magnitude of each force F is calculated as

Net force img is obtained from the vector sum of the three forces F shown in figure

where img are unit vectors along x-axis and y-axis respectively .

From above expression, we get net force Fnet = 0
