Solution:

Number of moles of dioxygen = 70.6g           = 2.21 mol

                                              32gmol-1

Number of moles of neon = 167.5g       = 8.375 mol

                                        20gmol-1

Mole fraction of dioxygen =   2.21              =     0.21

                                          (2.21 +8.375)

Mole fraction of neon = 1 – 0.21 = 0.79

Partial pressure of gas = Mole fraction × Total pressure

Partial pressure of O2 = 0.21 × 25 bar = 5.25 bar

Partial pressure of Ne = 0.79 × 25 bar = 19.75 bar
