Friction gives retardation that equals (μ × g ) , where μ is friction coefficient and g is acceleration due to gravity.
if the box started sliding with initial speed u and stopped after 2 s, so that final speed is zero.
we get initial speed from, 0 = u - (μg)2 or u = 2μg
Let us use the formula " S = ut -(1/2)at2 " with S =1, u = 2μg and a = μg
then we have, 1 = (2μg)2 - (1/2)(μg)4 or 2μg = 1 or μ = 1/(2g)
if we use g = 10, then μ = 1/20 = 0.05
