Given velocity-time relation is

If we compare above expression with equation of motion " v = u + a t " ,

we get initial speed u = 0 and acceleration a = 6 m/s2.

Hence distance S traveled in 2 s is calculated from equation of motion " S = u t + (1/2) a t2 "with initial velocity u = 0 .

S = (1/2) a t2 = 1/2 × 6 × 2 × 2 = 12 m
