Rain is falling at angle 45°east of vertical. A person moving due East at 10m/s observes rainfall vertically downward. Then speed of raindrop with respect to ground is?

Vector AB drawn in the figure represents the rain falling vertically 45° east of vertical.
If the man travels 10m/s towards east, we have to substract the respective vector from vector AB, to get relative velocity of rain.
Hence the vector AD is drawn in westward direction that represnts vector for man's travel.
Let us construct the parallelogram ABCD so that the diagonal AC is vertical that reresent theresultant vector. 
 
ΔADC is isoceless right triangle with AC = AD = 10 m/s.  Hence DC = AB = 10√2 m/s. 
 
Hence speed of raindrop is 14.14 m/s with respect to ground
