Argument of logarithm is a dimensionless quantity .
If k is Boltzman constant and T is temperature , then units for (kT) is units of energy.
Hence units of ( β x ) is units of energy . If units of x is units of distance , then units of β is units of force.
It is given that p is dimensionless quantity .Hence the ratio ( α / β ) is dimensionless .
If units of β is units force , then units of α is units of force
