amar travels a certain distance to office by car everyday. as the petrol prices ,he calculates for increase rs 1.5 per km he will be able to cover 2 km less by car,for same amount on petrol everyday.what is the actual distance from his home to office

Answer:
Let the actual distance be x km and the total original price be Rs A that he is spending. Hence, prince per km = A/x
 
Hence, (A/x+1.5)(x-2) = x*A/x
A - 2A/x +1.5x -3 = A
1.5x2-3x -2A = 0
