Given quadratic equation is 2x2 - ( 2√2 ) x +1 = 0
If we compare the given quadratic equation with standard form of a x2 + b x + c = 0 , then we get
a = 2 , b = -2√2 and c = 1
b2 - ( 4 a c ) = ( - 2 √2 )2 - ( 4 × 2 × 1 ) = 0
If ( b2 - ( 4 a c ) ) = 0 , then roots are real and equal .
Equal roots of given quadratic equation = -b/(2a) = 2√2 / 4 = 1/√2
