A Car travelling at 22.4m/s skids to stop in 2.55 sec.Determine the skidding distance of the car.(Assume uniform acceleration).

time to reach zero speed is obtained from " v = u - a×t ", where v is final speed and v = 0 in travel time t seconds with retardation a.
 
hence retardation a = u / t = 22.4/2.55 = 8.784 m/s2
 
distance S = u×t - (1/2)×a×t2 = 22.4×2.55 - (1/2)×8.784×2.55×2.55 = 28.56 m
