initial velocity of the ball which is dropped from a height 20 m and when it reaches the ground = begin mathsize 12px style square root of 2 g h end root space equals space square root of 2 cross times 9.8 cross times 20 end root space almost equal to space 19.8 space m divided by s end style
final velocity of the ball when it just bounced back from the wall and reaches a maximum height of 5 m = begin mathsize 12px style square root of 2 g h end root space equals space square root of 2 cross times 9.8 cross times 5 end root space almost equal to space 9.9 space m divided by s end style
average acceleration = ( final velocity - initial velocity)/time = (9.9-19.8)/(6×10-3) = -1.65×103 m/s2
