Most challenging subjects in CBSE Class 10

1) Mathematics: It is one of the most challenging as well as one of the most scoring subjects. Trickiest of questions can destroy your chances of scoring full marks in your Maths examination. In what otherwise seems like a mathematically great story, three of the most difficult chapters are like the harshest of villains. These are Real Numbers, Pair of Linear Equations in Two Variables and Trigonometry. You like the hero of this Math prem katha have to practise thoroughly and defeat these three to reach your cherished goal of a perfect 100 percent!

If you ask any of the students who are appearing for the Mathematics exam, they will definitely say that there are certain topics which are tough to understand without any help by expert teachers. We will help you in your struggle against these three toughies.

  • Real Numbers: This first chapter in your syllabus carries a weightage of almost 6 marks. The reason it is important is because it includes the theory of ‘Euclid’s Division Lemma’ which will be used in every concept as it focuses on how to solve a certain theorem. The overall marks distribution is pretty okay as compared to other chapters. But, it widely speaks about the fundamental theories of Arithmetic which are most crucial if you are studying for some of the competitive exams like JEE and NEET.
  • Pair of Linear Equations in Two Variables: It is one of the most important chapters in Algebra; it usually focuses on solving linear equations so that you will be able to find the relationship between two variables.

If you are lucky enough that it appears in your boards, then you can expect about 18 marks of questions from this topic.

Apart from these three chapters, the chapter Surface Areas and Volumes has also been reported by students as playing spoilsport. So, please practise this one well too.

2) Science: Studying Science is challenging. The syllabus of Science in Class 10 is extremely vast and is divided into the 3 sub-subjects of Physics, Chemistry and Biology. So preparing for the Science examination is not as easy as you think. You need to push yourself to the limit. You need to cover more than 50 chapters.

If you religiously follow the fundamental concepts that you have studied, it will definitely help in your future too. Learning the fundamentals is of utmost importance to score good marks in Class 10 and the competitive exams like IIT-JEE and NEET.

3) Social Studies: Usually subjects of social studies are perceived boring by almost all students. This is because the topics in these subjects seem repetitive and thus become mundane. History, for example, speaks about what happened in the past and what activities have taken place (far too many activities have occurred and have been recorded) which seriously results in the brain getting bogged down badly.

From an examination point of view, boring Social Studies needs to be fun if you need to score well in your examination.
