Earlier in December 2016, the Centre had announced the implementation of NEET in six regional languages. Further to that, candidates who wish to give the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) can now appear for the exam in Odia and Kannada. This takes the count of the regional languages to eight - Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Marathi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Odia. The exam will also be conducted in English and Hindi.
