NCERT Creates Plan To Teach Kids at Home Amidst Covid-19!

As the whole country is under a lockdown due to COVID-19, NCERT (National Council for Education Research and Training) is coming up with new solutions to aid home schooling. Keeping the current hurdles in mind, the NCERT has designed a four-week alternate e-learning academic calendar for school students. This four-week calendar also includes a task of maintaining a dairy about the COVID-19 lockdown. The students have been advised to use spoons and bowls, coronavirus charts and graphs to learn about numbers, millions and trillions, as a part of their home learning.

The calendar emphasizes how kitchen equipment and other items can help students to stay home and learn during this quarantine period. These lessons are planned for CBSE Classes 1 to 5 and involve observing objects and family members for number system and measuring. Additionally, they have also asked the students to document their lockdown journey.

NCERT chief Hrushikesh Senapati said this plan was created because of the extraordinary circumstances. “There definitely is a lot of good material online. But our effort here has been to encourage engagement of children when they are at home through the involvement of parents and under the guidance of teachers,” he said.

Since classroom education has moved to online classes, TopperLearning takes pride in being the pioneer in this educational journey. We have study material for all classes from 1 to 10 and provide these resources in the form of worksheets, sample papers, video lessons etc. Our approach in learning also aligns with the current learning scenario and we are here to students in every possible way.
