Mumbai’s Top Engineering Colleges in trouble!

MU cancels EOA of top engineering colleges.

By Admin 27th May, 2016 03:12 pm

Mumbai University's academic council recently decided to cancel the extension of affiliation (EoA) of engineering colleges, which have been denied EoA by the All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE). Due to this, these institutes won’t have any new admissions for this academic year.

The order will be revoked, if AICTE's action is also withdrawn by the court. A report submitted to the university by local inquiry committees, which visited all the 64 engineering colleges affiliated to Mumbai University. Of the 64 colleges, three have permanent affiliation from the university. The rest of the colleges seek temporary affiliation every year. This year, six engineering colleges in the city were not given the extension of approval by AICTE.

These are some of the most popular engineering colleges. The affected colleges have approached the High Court for relief.

EoA has been cancelled for the following colleges: Watumull Institute of Electronics Engineering, Rizvi College of Engineering, MH Saboo Siddik College of Engineering, Indira Gandhi College of Engineering, Thadomal Shahani Engineering College, Vasantdada Patil College of Engineering.
